MACEDON. Koinon of Macedon. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Triassarion (Bronze, 26 mm, 13.14 g, 6 h), Beroea, time of Elagabal, 218-222 (?). AΛЄΞANΔPOY Diademed head of Alexander 'the Great' to right. Rev. KOINON MAKEΔΟNΩN ΔΙC ΝЄ Alexander standing right, nude but for cloak flowing out behind him, taming Boukephalos rearing left. AMNG III/1 -. Naumann E-Auction 39 (2016), 508 = RPC VI online 250.1 = Solidus E-Auction 8 (2016), 174 (same dies). Very rare and with an interesting reverse type. Slightly rough and with minor flan faults on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
